No, I'm not dead. I'm getting better! And I'm glad to see many of the same silly peckerheads around! Oh my goodness what is all the spam!? I remember there being issues all those years ago, but man... nothing like it is atm.
I still have my awesome 2013 ZX-14R. It's just been stored the best I can recall, the last 4 years. I got in 14, and rode 15 and 16. I finally got it back out this year, around June, and rode just a tick over 3000 miles. She's got just shy of 23,700 miles on her now. I got to hand it to Kaw.
It stored amazingly well. It was stored with a full tank of E0 90 octane (no additives or stabilizers), and a fresh oil change (Valvoline 4T Full Synthetic). Reviving it I did a full coolant flush, and flushed/bled the brakes and clutch, and replaced the battery. The gas didn't smell good, but I went ahead with it. I about shit my pants when I pressed the starter button and she fired right up like it was just started the day before. Blip the starter and she fired right up. Used that tank of fuel no issue, and ran like a champ all summer long.
I wasn't riding too hard this year, definitely having some fun, but nothing like I was able to the first 3 years. 3000 was the stopping point for me, since my M7RRs are down to the wear indicators and having to do an oil change. Which the oil looked AMAZING. Seriously, I have NEVER SEEN such clean oil coming out of anything especially with 3k miles on it. It was still CLEAR (although dark).
